Who Are We?
The Front Range Knitting Guild is a non-profit organization that is affiliated with The Knitting Guild Association (TKGA). Our guild was founded by Ann Young in 2006 to serve the knitters of Northern Colorado.
We share a passion for the art of knitting, and our skills range from beginners to master knitters!
Through regular meetings, workshops, and events, we provide opportunities for members to learn, share, and grow in their craft. We believe in the power of knitting to inspire, connect, and uplift individuals and communities.
Our Mission
Our mission is to foster creativity, camaraderie, and skill development within our knitting community.
Knitted Knockers are special handmade breast prostheses for women who have had breast cancer and undergone mastectomy or lumpectomy. Traditional breast prosthetics can be hot, heavy and sticky. They typically require special bras or camisoles with pockets and can’t be worn for weeks after surgery. Knitted Knockers are soft, comfortable, beautiful and when placed in a regular bra they take the shape and feel of a real breast. They are adjustable, washable and can even be worn while swimming. Our special volunteer knitters provide these FREE to those requesting them.
Gretchen will speak about Knitted Knockers – history, current affairs and events.
Then she will introduce the patterns with tips for sizing, approved yarns, getting started, finishing and where to drop off finished/unstuffed knockers.
